Gastric Ultrasound for Children (from birth)
Gastric ultrasound is a safe and painless examination that evaluates the shape, size, and condition of the stomach walls, as well as gastrointestinal function in children.
The method is widely used in newborns and young children to diagnose congenital features and stomach conditions. Helps detect motility disorders, inflammatory changes, signs of gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux, and other pathologies.
The procedure is performed using an ultrasound probe through the anterior abdominal wall, causes no pain or discomfort, and takes approximately 10–15 minutes.

Preparation depends on the child's age:
- Newborns and infants under 1 year: no feeding 2–3 hours before the examination
- Children aged 1–3 years: no feeding 3–4 hours before the examination
- Children over 3 years: no eating 5–6 hours before the examination
A few hours before: avoid gas-producing foods.
Indications:
- frequent regurgitation or vomiting
- abdominal pain or discomfort
- poor appetite
- abdominal bloating
- suspected congenital gastric anomalies
- follow-up after GI treatment
