Intestinal ultrasound is a modern, safe, and painless diagnostic method that allows assessment of the small and large intestine, detection of inflammatory processes, functional disorders, and masses.
The examination is performed in both adults and children, with no radiation exposure and the possibility of repeat examinations.

Preparation depends on the child's age:
- Children under 1 year: no feeding for 2–3 hours before the examination; no water for 1 hour
- Children aged 1–3 years: no feeding for 3–4 hours; limit fluid intake for 1 hour
- Children over 3 years: preparation same as for adults; diet for 1–2 days; examination on an empty stomach (6 hours)
